On July 17, 2022, the Free Belarus Museum opened its doors in Warsaw.
Since then, together with its partners, the museum has carried out dozens of exhibition projects, concerts, theatre events, children’s programmes, educational meetings, discussions, and round tables.
Our museum collection has grown by almost 700 artefacts, while our archive now contains thousands of digital testimonies preserving the memory of events from Belarus’s recent history.
The Free Belarus Museum marks its 4th anniversary as a nominee for a prestigious European museum award. We have been longlisted for the European Museum of the Year Award and the Council of Europe Museum Prize — EMYA 2027 — and are awaiting the next results.
And these are not all the good news!
At the museum’s request, Poczta Polska has issued collectible postage stamps featuring images of landmark objects from our collection. The stamps have been printed in a very limited edition, with only a few copies of each in existence.
On its birthday, the Free Belarus Museum is launching a charity auction. For the museum’s friends and supporters, we are offering a lot consisting of three sets of museum stamps bearing the personal signatures of Nobel Prize laureates Ales Bialiatski and Svetlana Alexievich, as well as the well-known patron and descendant of the famous princely family, Maciej Radziwiłł.
The auction is open until July 30. All funds raised through the auction will support the museum’s further work — the acquisition of new artefacts and the creation of exhibitions.

An artefact connected to your personal story would also be a wonderful gift for the museum! If you have an object that can tell the story of your participation in important socio-political events for the country, please bring it, donate it, and share its story with us!
We are still not home. But together, we continue to preserve what must not disappear.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supports the Free Belarus Museum. And on our birthday, your attention means especially much to us!
