Former journalist Mikita Melkazerov was long known for his memorable yellow Crocs.

“My wife used to tell me: ‘Throw away those Crocs; they’re completely worn out.’ Legendary yellow Crocs, as Nasta Roudá called them. Who am I to argue with Nasta Roudá? I thought, indeed, these Crocs have seen a lot. I bought them during COVID, they moved with me from Belarus, and they’ve probably seen nine countries,” Melkazerov noted in a new episode of the podcast “Neshta Budze.”

He shared that he jokingly offered this pair of shoes to the Museum of Free Belarus. “I said, ‘Do you need an exhibit?’ And they said yes, let’s do it.”

When Sasha Ivulin remarked that such an exhibit might look strange in a museum, Melkazerov replied:
“Why is a BChB wedding dress not strange, but my Crocs are? (…) There should also be some journalistic artifacts.”

As Melkazerov mentioned, he recorded a video for the museum telling the story of his Crocs (as required by the rules). In addition, a formal transfer document was signed.
