The first Maldzis initiative festival took place in Warsaw.
On September 7, the Maldzis initiative celebrated its first anniversary with a large festival at the Museum of Free Belarus. The event combined history, discussions, educational projects, and music.
Historical Exhibition
Guests had the opportunity to see unique artifacts provided by Belarusian patrons, including:
- The Third Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania
- The Radziwiłł Map of the GDL and Jan Nieprzecki’s map of the GDL
- The Staff of Governance by Simeon of Polotsk
- A rare French-language edition of The Great Art of Artillery by Kazimierz Siemienowicz
Discussions and Presentations
The program featured several discussions and public talks:
- “Who Finds Belarusianness Interesting Today?” with Ryhor Astapenia, Pavel Daneyka, Nasta Rouda, and Siarhei Budkin
- Presentations of projects by graduates of the Maldzis Summer School
- Series of talks on Belarusian music, publishing, and cultural heritage restoration
- A conversation with Sviatlana Kurs on Belarusian identity
Music Program
The festival concluded with a concert by the band Nochy, creating a festive atmosphere.
