We are publishing a recording of the lecture “The First Belarusian Revolution” by ethnologist and historian Pavel Terashkovich, which took place on 11 August at the Free Belarus Museum as part of the exhibition “2020. Minsk Speaks”.
During the lecture, Pavel Terashkovich discusses the changes in Belarusian society that created the conditions for the revolutionary events of 2020, the mass protests and marches, the phenomenon of self-organisation within Belarusian society, and the place of 2020 in Belarus’s recent history.
Pavel Terashkovich is an ethnologist, historian, long-standing lecturer, and one of the heads of the European Humanities University. His research focuses on history, national identity, and contemporary social processes in Belarus.
