Free Belarus Museum Team Visits Kyiv on a Working Trip
October 15, 2026
During the visit, the Museum took several important steps towards preserving shared memory and strengthening Belarusian-Ukrainian cooperation. We received an exceptionally important artefact: a photograph of Mikhail Zhyzneuski, which was used at the first memorial dedicated to the Belarusian hero during Ukraine’s Revolution of Dignity in 2014.
We also reached an agreement to host the exhibition “Belarusians with Ukraine in Their Hearts” at the Free Belarus Museum, with the opening scheduled for 31 October. In addition, we concluded a strategic partnership agreement with representatives of the Maidan Museum, an institution dedicated to preserving the memory of the Ukrainian people’s path towards democracy and independence, including the participation of Belarusians in this struggle.
For the Free Belarus Museum, this means more than acquiring new artefacts and reaching agreements. It is an opportunity to preserve evidence of our shared history and tell the story of the Belarusian presence in Ukraine’s struggle for freedom.
The project is implemented within the ArtPower Belarus programme with the financial support of the European Union.
