On this special day, we are pleased to share important news — the Museum of Free Belarus now has a full library, accessible to all visitors!
The Faculty of Applied Linguistics (Wydział Lingwistyki Stosowanej) of Warsaw University donated a collection of 559 Belarusian books to the museum. The collection includes academic publications, classic and contemporary works by Belarusian authors, books on history, culture, linguistics, and folklore, as well as literature for children and teenagers. Among them are rare and valuable editions from the Belarusian Encyclopedia and independent Belarusian publishers of the 1990s and 2000s.
The donation was made as a gesture of solidarity with Belarusians and to support Belarusian culture in Poland, creating a new place in Warsaw where Belarusians can engage with their native language and literature.
The library will be open not only to museum visitors but also to scholars, students studying Belarusian topics at Polish universities, and anyone interested in Belarusian culture. In addition to the books from the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, readers will have access to the latest Belarusian publications carefully collected by the museum in recent years.
The Museum of Free Belarus will implement a registration system for the reading room. Stay tuned for updates — a complete list of titles and details on how visitors can borrow books will be published soon.
