The curator of the event, Lizaveta Kaliverda, and artist and performer Katsiaryna Yewdakhimava shared their memories of the political prisoner:

“I had to leave Hrodna on July 11. I lived in the city center. As I was driving past the prison wall, I thought that somewhere behind it, Ales was being tortured. And when I arrived in Białystok, my friends called to tell me that Ales was gone.”
“What makes Ales Pushkin so remarkable to me is that he was always someone who asked himself where to be and who to be. He always fought for freedom, for his beliefs — and remained an artist even in the most difficult and strange circumstances. For example, when he was imprisoned, or when he lived in the provincial town of Babruy.”
