The phrase “Nothing Particularly New” often appears in the letters of Belarusian political prisoners.
Behind these words lies an attempt to conceal pain and the monotonous routine of imprisonment. Yet it is precisely this outward ordinariness that becomes a testimony to the systemic injustice experienced by thousands of Belarusians.
The exhibition “Nothing Particularly New” presents the personal belongings of political prisoners donated to the museum’s collection — everyday items that serve as silent witnesses to life behind bars.
A life of people imprisoned for their beliefs, dignity, and longing for freedom.
Alongside these objects are excerpts from letters, poems, and sound recordings made by the prisoners themselves.
The exhibition preserves their words and possessions both as documents of an era and as emotional evidence of resistance.
