On 29 October, we gathered to honour the memory of Belarusian poets and cultural figures executed on the night of 29–30 October 1937, as well as all the victims of Stalinist repression.
That evening, we heard poems by repressed Belarusian and Polish poets, watched the theatrical performance “The Great Terror”, and took part in an open-mic session that gave everyone an opportunity to contribute to a shared conversation and act of remembrance.
Thank you to everyone who joined us. For being there that evening. For every poem read, every word spoken and every moment of shared remembrance.
When we come together, remember and speak about those whom others tried to silence, we are doing something truly important.
Organisers: Free Belarus Museum and X Pavilion of the Warsaw Citadel.
With thanks for their support to: Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's Office, the Representation for National Revival of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, the People's Anti-Crisis Administration, the Youth Council of the Museum of Independence in Warsaw, and the Ludwika and Henryk Wujec Civic Fund.
