Volha Zazulinskaya, Representative for Social Policy of the United Transitional Cabinet, about the exhibition “Nothing Particularly New”:
“This exhibition is an initiative of the Museum of Free Belarus and a team that managed to collect what usually never makes it into museums: pencils, cups, notes, children’s drawings from prison…
Objects that political prisoners kept with them or passed on.
They are very simple — and that’s why they are so powerful.
Nothing particularly new.
But each object reminds us that there is a person behind it. Someone who wrote home, drew for their children, held on to small things — and they still speak about the present moment…
We do not forget.
According to human rights defenders, there are currently at least 1,314 political prisoners in Belarus.
Support them in every possible way — and visit the Museum of Free Belarus exhibition.”
