For several years, the Free Belarus Museum has been offering emerging artists the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience through a solo exhibition during the summer season.
This year, we are pleased to host Inga Wójcik, a young Polish artist and a fifth-year student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
On 1 July at 6:00 PM, the Free Belarus Museum will open "Metrum", an exhibition that forms part of Inga Wójcik's diploma project.
The exhibition presents the artist's distinctive approach to image-making. Through layering, blurring, and the gradual erasure of forms, realistic motifs slowly transform into abstraction. The works are rooted in memories, fragments of the urban landscape, and everyday observations.
The exhibition will also feature the sound installation "Palimpsest", a dialogue between painting and sound. Composer Cyryl Jegliński created a musical composition based on the visual structure of the paintings.
Technical realization by Jakub Malinowski.
