Belarusian artist Anton Radzivonau held the opening of his exhibition “The Long Journey” in Warsaw.

The works, dedicated to emigration, are on display at the Museum of Free Belarus until the end of June.

During the opening, the artist gave a speech, and the event was musically supported by Belarusian bagpiper and leader of the band Lity Taler, Denis Shmatko:

“It is important for me to support Belarusians abroad and significant cultural events — I believe that what is happening today at the Museum of Belarus, in the form of this exhibition, is part of that. I want more people to know about Belarusians, first and foremost Belarusians themselves. Through events like this, Belarusians abroad will not forget that they are Belarusian, even if they have received a PESEL, learned the language, or found work in Poland. They come, see the beautiful, stunning images by a Belarusian artist, and they remember that they are Belarusian.”

Among the guests at the event were members of Volny Kupala Theatre: Zoya Belakhvostik, Valentyna Hartsueva, and Alexander Hartsuev, as well as musicians Pavel Tryput, Yulia Marchanka, and others.

The exhibition is on view at the Museum of Free Belarus in Warsaw until June 30.
