On July 27, 2025, the Day of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Belarus, the Solidarity Movement “Razam” handed over to the collections of the Museum of Free Belarus the banner “Freedom for Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk!”.

Co-chair of the Solidarity Movement “Razam” Alena Talstaya emphasized that this banner had been an integral part of Warsaw rallies of Belarusians during the period when one of the most well-known political prisoners — activist of “European Belarus” Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk — was illegally held behind bars.

During the rally in Warsaw on the same day, there were also banners demanding the release of other political prisoners often mentioned by Palina — Viktoria Kulsha, Volha Maiorava, Alena Hnauk, and Tatsiana Kaneuskaya. Participants stressed that unlawful sentences and harsh detention conditions are a great disgrace for the regime and an attempt to break brave people who have not abandoned their convictions.

Vice-Marshal of the Foreign Sejm of the Solidarity Movement “Razam” Irena Biarnatskaya added that at today’s rally in Warsaw there was also a banner demanding the release of journalist Andrzej Poczobut. She stated: “We fought and will continue to fight for the release of all political prisoners of Belarus.”

The transferred banner has become part of the collection of the Museum of Free Belarus and now stands not only as an artifact of its time but also as a symbol of solidarity of Belarusians in exile with those who continue to fight for freedom inside the country.
