The Centre for Belarusian Culture in Białystok, the Fr Krzysztof Kluk Museum of Agriculture in Ciechanowiec, and the Free Belarus Museum invite you to the opening of the exhibition Bagpipes: Instrument, History, Symbol.
The exhibition is dedicated to the bagpipes as one of the most distinctive and unique features of Belarusian musical culture. It tells the story of how an instrument that had virtually disappeared from Belarusian tradition by the mid-20th century was later revived and became a powerful national symbol.
Visitors will be able to see bagpipes made by craftspeople from different generations, reconstructions based on museum specimens, archival photographs, and illustrations. The exhibition will also feature archival recordings of bagpipe players born in the 19th century, rare newsreel footage, and examples of how bagpipes are used in contemporary music.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until 6 December 2026.

Curator: Eugen Baryshnikau.

When: 5 November 2026 (Thursday), 12:00 noon

Where: Fr Krzysztof Kluk Museum of Agriculture in Ciechanowiec, 5 Pałacowa Street.
