Just a few days to go — the international conference “After Totalitarianism: Museum, Memory and the Belarusian Perspective”
On 8–9 October, the Free Belarus Museum in Warsaw will bring together museum professionals, historians, memory researchers, curators and experts from Belarus and other European countries to discuss how to work with the difficult legacy of totalitarianism and authoritarianism.
Over two days — 8 thematic sessions and more than 25 speakers from Belarus, Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Italy, France and other countries.
The discussion will focus on how to preserve memory of repression and war, heritage and identity. On what museums can tell us and how they can change the way we look at the past.
We are sharing the full conference programme in the following slides.
