The Free Belarus Museum invites you to a winter screening of “Diafilm Live” — an evening of diafilm projections with live narration and musical accompaniment.
📍 February 8, 6:00 PM
📍 Free Belarus Museum, ul. Foksal 11, Warsaw
Winter is still in full swing — a fitting time to gather in a museum space and experience storytelling as a shared, attentive act. “Diafilm Live” offers a distinctive format that combines the light of a slide projector, live spoken word, and music.
The program includes:
— diafilm screenings on a large screen,
— live actor narration,
— musical accompaniment,
— the recreation of the “ritual” atmosphere of collective viewing.
The winter selection brings together authorial and folk tales, as well as diafilms based on works by contemporary Belarusian writers. Some stories return from earlier editions of the project, while others are presented in a new interpretation.
Stories featured in the program:
— A Scary Tale — I. Bursau, trans. R. Baradulin
— The Snow Maiden — folk tale
— Multicolored Letters — I. Pivovarova
— The Hunt — A. Khadanovich
— Horton Hatches the Egg — Dr. Seuss
— Sheep — V. Hapieyeva
— A Merry New Year — A. Prøysen
* Minor changes to the program are possible.
