Join us on October 29 at 20:00 for the poetic evening «Night of the (Un)Executed Poets» at the Museum of Free Belarus.
This is a night of memory and solidarity, when we honor those who gave their lives for Belarus and those who continue to pay for their freedom today.
On the night of October 29–30, 1937, in the Minsk NKVD prison (now known as «Amerikanka») and in the surrounding area of Kurapaty, dozens of prominent Belarusian poets, scholars, and artists— the nation’s heart and voice—were executed.
Every year, we gather to commemorate them and listen to the voices of the living. This year, the event will also pay tribute to Belarusian political prisoners who are currently suffering in detention for their love of Belarus and their pursuit of freedom. We will be their voice, their support, and their hope.
Hosts of the evening:
In the second part of the evening, there will be an open mic: everyone is invited to share their own poems about Belarus, love, freedom, and hope.
