On March 21, the Museum of Free Belarus will host a presentation of the Belarusian translation of the book
“Soviet Partisans in 1941–1944. Myths and Reality.”
The event will feature the author, Bogdan Musiał, a German-Polish historian specializing in the history of World War II.
The book explores the Soviet partisan movement in Belarus and challenges a number of long-standing myths. It addresses complex and often overlooked issues, including:
— forced mobilization
— internal conflicts and discipline
— the role of women
— relations with civilians
— looting and repression
It also examines German anti-partisan operations, losses, and the conditions in which the movement operated.
